Lactation Access Fund
Removing financial barriers. Strengthening the lactation workforce. Expanding access to care.
Access is one of the five pillars of the LATCH philosophy because care cannot improve outcome if families cannot reach it.
The Lactation Access Fund exists to ensure that financial barriers never stand between a family and the lactation care they need. Through donor support, the find allows eligible families to receive no-cost or subsidized lactation services while ensuring providers are fully compensated for the care they deliver. By investing in both families and the professionals who serve them, the fund helps create a more equitable and sustainable model for community-based lactation care.
Access Shouldn't Depend on Ability to Pay
Every family deserves access to skilled, compassionate lactation care. Yet for many families, insurance limitations and out-of-pocket costs make that care difficult, or impossible, to obtain. At the same time, many lactation professionals face a difficult reality: providing uncompensated care is not sustainable, no matter how great the need.
The Lactation Access Fund bridges that gap. It allows families to receive the support they need without financial hardship while ensuring providers receive full compensation for their time, expertise, and clinical care.
This approach reflects our belief that expanding access should never come at the expense of the workforce. Sustainable care requires sustainable investment in the professionals who make that care possible.
Our Philosophy
We believe financial circumstances should never determine whether a family receives evidence-based lactation care. At the same time, we believe expanding access should never depend on providers donating their labor.
The Lactation Access Fund was created to honor both truths.
