Lactation Care Services

  • MILK Line

    No-Cost | Text-Based Support

The MILK Line provides text-based support for non-emergency, non-complex lactation questions. This service is designed for general guidance, education, and quick questions that do not require a clinical assessment.

    Examples include:

    • milk storage guidelines

    • hand expression tips

    • pumping questions

    • flange sizing resources

    • general breastfeeding education

    New Families:

New families may receive one complimentary MILK Line Consultation, which includes 45 minutes of cumulative text-based support. Before receiving clinical support, we will gather a few brief feeding questions and we’ll create a secure client profile in our electronic health record.

    Established Families:

Established OMC families are welcome to use the MILK Line for brief questions related to their care.

    When an Appointment is Needed:

Some concerns can not be safely addressed by text alone. If your concern requires a health history, observation of a feeding, review of pumping techniques, individualized care planning, or ongoing clinical support, we’ll recommend scheduling a lactation consultation.

The MILK Line is monitored during business hours and is not intended for medical emergencies.

  • Individual Prenatal Lactation Prep

    $25 | Virtual

Prepare for the early days of feeding with confidence through a personalized prenatal session designed to help you know what to expect before your baby arrives.

Together, we’ll discuss topics such as basic breast anatomy and common lactation terms, early feeding, colostrum, what to expect in the hospital or birth setting, preparing for the transition home, and when to seek additional support.

You’ll leave with practical guidance, helpful recommendations, and a clearer understanding of what the first days and weeks of feeding may look like.

Flexible daytime and evening virtual appointments are available to accommodate your schedule. In-person sessions are available for Madison County residents only.

Together, we’ll assess what’s happening, discuss evidence-based recommendations, and develop a personalized plan that supports your goals. Follow-up support is available as your feeding journey continues.

Together, we’ll address early feeding questions, assess latch and milk transfer, develop a personalized feeding plan, and help you feel confident as you settle into life with your baby.

Evening bedside visits are available to provide support during a time when hospital lactation services may be limited, helping families navigate early feeding challenges and make informed feeding decisions.
