Stories That LATCH

Every story has the power to change another.

Behind every feeding journey is a story of hope, joy, resilience, uncertainty, healing, or growth.

Stories That LATCH is a community storytelling initiative that honors those experiences and creates space for voices that deserve to be heard.

Whether your story is still unfolding or you’ve reached the other side of your journey, your words may become the encouragement someone else has been searching for.

Why Stories Matter

Stories connect us in ways statistics never can.

They remind us that behind every policy, every program, and every conversation about lactation are real people with real experiences.

At OMC, we believe storytelling is a form of advocacy and healing. By sharing our experiences, we build community, preserve history, challenge stigma, and create space for others to feel seen.

Every story matters because every journey matters.

Share Your Story

Share Your Story

Whether your experience was joyful, difficult, unexpected, or somewhere in between, your voice has value.

You might choose to share about:

  • Preparing to breastfeed or chestfeed

  • Pumping or combination feeding

  • Lactation after a pregnancy or infant loss

  • Lactation after receiving abortion care

  • Returning to work

  • Being a teen, young, or older parent

  • A feeding journey that did not go as planned

  • Navigating the healthcare system

  • Supporting someone through their feeding journey (partner, grandparent, friend, or loved one)

  • Caring for a breastfed or human milk fed baby (caregiver, childcare provider, or family member)

  • Finding community and support

  • A moment that changed your perspective

  • Something entirely your own

There is no “right” story.

Only your story.

Thank You for Sharing Your Story

Every story entrusted to OMC becomes part of something larger than itself.

Together, we’re building a collection of experiences that honors our community, encourage future families, and reminds us that no one walks this journey alone.

Thank you for helping these stories latch to memory, to healing, and to one another.

Stories may be shared anonymously or with your first name, depending on your preference. Every submission is reviewed before publication to help ensure a respectful and supportive space for our community.
